( Norwell, MA, April, 2008 ) – Wendy’s International, Inc. honored Crest Uniform, a division of ARAMARK Uniform & Career Apparel, LLC. with the 2008 Golden Link Award for Supplier Excellence. This year’s winners were chosen based on their willingness to demonstrate outstanding supply chain contributions — including driving costs down, product innovations or technology enhancements, and improving customer service or environmental sustainability. Crest Uniform was selected for its proposed uniform program that delivered increased savings without sacrificing quality or service.
“Although Crest Uniform is a longstanding partner, the company approached our competitive bid with enthusiasm and professionalism,” said Wendy’s Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management Tad Wampfler. “Crest viewed the Request for Proposal (RFP) as an opportunity, rather than a threat, to expand the business relationship. Their method brought value to the Wendy’s system and they became our sole uniform supplier in the process.”
In winning the bid against several competitors Crest Uniform, a Wendy’s supply partner for a decade, went from delivering on 75 percent of Wendy’s crew and manager uniforms to servicing the entire account.
